What is injection molding? Injection molding is the process of forcing melted plastic in to a mold cavity. Once the plastic has cooled, the part can be ejected. Injection molding is often used in mass-production and prototyping. Injection molding is a relatively new way to manufacture parts.
There are six major steps in the injection molding process:
1. Clamping
2. Injection
3. Dwelling
4. Cooling
5. Mold Opening.
6. Ejection
